The Institute Of Modern Media

"The Institute" staff consists of the administration, including a development team and an archivist, the television, the academic staff for the media degrees and others working on the community services programmes.

The IMM is an integral part of Al-Quds University – its media arm, and therefore works closely with the university for all administrative as well as for academic matters. We work closely with faculty to develop the best educational programmes and we have a crew in place on the University campus to film the many interesting lectures and other campus happenings and bring them to the Palestinian public via the AQTV.

Our production team at the AQTV includes a unit of specialists in multimedia, so we can produce up-to-date television graphics and animation.

We have a full crew of cameramen, technicians and producers working in Ramallah with another small crew in Jerusalem. this makes us unique among the local Palestinian television stations, as we are the only one to report live from Jerusalem.

We believe strongly in the principle of cooperation with all sectors of society and that this needs to be shown through our work as an example to all: We are part of the Maan Network (a founding member)and therefore work closely with other broadcasters from all over the West Bank.

We work closely with the Palestine Broadcasting Corporation, cooperating over certain programmes, giving them training, and helping them with multimedia and educational approaches.

There is still a prevalence of rote-learning methods in Palestinian schools. We are therefore cooperating with the Ministry of Education in the production of programmes to help supplement the school curriculum, and to make learning the enjoyable experience it naturally should be for Palestinian children.

We work with civil society organizations, such as the WACLAC, to produce films or spots on key issues such as human rights and democracy.
