The Community Media Arm of The Institute for Modern Media and Al-Quds University

“Hona Al-Quds”, which means “Here in Jerusalem”, is a multimedia news agency which, uniquely among Palestinian media, reports from, and focuses on, life in the Old City of Jerusalem.  This community media agency, the first of its kind in Palestine, seeks to support and give voice to the Palestinian experience within the Old City of Jerusalem.

HonaAlquds’ production offices are housed in Ramallah/Al-Bireh, near those of the IMM, but a great deal of the reporting and content comes from our East Jerusalem office which is located in the heart of the Old City.

Radio

A core part of HonaAlQuds is the newly inaugurated online radio station.  It aims to give voice to a community - in this case that of the Palestinian residents of the Old City.  While politics are of course important HonaAlQuds also covers local and social issues including education, the economy, the relationship between the old city and the West Bank and Gaza and social needs and services.  A tent pole of the station is the live, 5-day-a-week morning program “Jerusalem Today”.  This station is available online and may be accessed around the world.  Every day it creates 12 hours of programming which is broadcast twice to accommodate different time zones.

HonaAlQuds online houses vibrant, and frequently updated, news stories from the heart of the Old City.

Al Quds Educational TV (AQTV)

AQTV works cooperatively with, and is a part of, the HonaAlQuds News Agency.  AQTV provides HonaAlquds with video reports.  In addition, videos that are filmed by HonaAlquds correspondents and IMM students based there may find a home on AQTV.  AQTV seeks to support and further HonaAlquds mission of giving voice to the Palestinian community of the Old City.
