About Cinema Fayrouz
The cinema serves Palestinian children on weekdays, weekends, holidays and summer vacations, youth and adults on weekends, providing alternative quality media for Palestinians.

During the weekdays, the space is rented out by schools, clubs and organizations to for customized programming. The cinema room is located on the ground floor of the IMM building (previously the Hilton Hotel) and can fit up to 50 people. The famous singer Fayrouz used to sing on the balcony of the Hilton Hotel, and hence the name Cinema Fayrouz.

The main audiences of the cinema are Palestinian children, they complain of boredom, stress, and a lack of recreational facilities and programs. They need safe places to socialize with their peers and learn new skills that benefit their growth and development. Forms of drama have been shown to be among the best ways to deal with such problems. The cinema reduces the feelings of restlessness in children, and will open their eyes to the rest of the world through seeing and hearing new things, and through socializing with other children in their community. This is one of the few safe environments available for children, providing both education and entertainment at the same time.
